Sunday..

Well I couldn't think of any other title for this post ^^

Today's Sunday. I had to wake up early as usual to attend the 7am mass at St Jude's. Mass usually ends by 8.10am since the next mass in Kannada starts around 8.15am. Sometimes i wish the timings for English and Kannada mass could be switched so i could wake up a bit late (heheh), or at least arrive early before the mass starts (sometimes i overslept and arrive only during the readings).

I like Sundays because I feel relaxed. Never mind that I have to wake up early - in fact, it may be the best way to start my Sunday with. I find the air fresh early in the morning, maybe because there's not much traffic.

Anyway, my friends and I usually go for breakfast (coffee!) somewhere after mass. Since it's only 8.30am, most shops are not open yet (napa la kedai sini pemalas?) so we have limited choices. Ahh i miss food and coffee shops back home! The shops there are open early for breakfast, and what scrumptious breakfast I've always had. Somehow, we still manage to find shops like Coffee Day in Bel Road (but it usually opens at 9am+, so we had to hang around at the ramaiah canteen or at the newspaper stall nearby before that). If we happen to go to Brigade Road (like today) then the choice would be Barrista since its the earliest shop open.

I love sitting in a coffee shop for breakfast on a Sunday morning ^^ Today I had Barrista's Mochallicious frappe. It was nice, with traces of mint. I took a picture of it, which I meant to upload earlier on, but i'm too lazy to transfer it from my camera to my laptop. Maybe i should get a camera phone eh? Easier and more convenient (grins).. Okay, I know it's a waste of money. I've a lot of things to save for - laptop, travel, "toys" (heheh, you probably are trying to figure out what it is huh?), and..the list goes on. Oh but of course, i also save just because - it's important to have savings right?

Oh yes, I love Sundays. After breakfast today we went gift hunting - my friend wanted to buy souvenirs and gifts for her family, so the hunt begins. She finally settled on some shawls, keychains and an expensive pair of cashmere pashmina for her parents' wedding anniversary ;p but that was a good buy, I agree. Later on, we had a chinese style buffet lunch - well it's closest we get to chinese food here huhuh. We were trying out a new shop. It was quite nice and I ate my fill (as a result I'm bloated til now). Then, we went home respectively to our pillows, laptops and YouTube :D Of course, I didn't go home empty-handed, I bought a sleeveless oversized top ("sigh"-you just had to bring something home, don't you shir***!)

So that's more or less how I spend my Sundays here - Mass, an outing, afternoon nap, some dose of YouTube..lately I enjoyed watching episodes of Family Outing, a korean variety show, very funny. I could spend more than an hour watching them (good stress buster but bad for the eyes heheh). Maybe I'll have a separate post for that with a link to one of my favourite episodes ^^ Now I've to prepare for classes tomorrow urghh...

Til I write next. Have a great week! (Praying she's able to keep her enthusiasm for the rest of the week)

Letter from the Castle of Grapes (..and i thought i was getting wiser..)

Dear Coffee Book,

I feel a bit drained right now. Yes, i know, u must be thinking that i should've taken my dose of cafe frappe instead of making a pass this afternoon. However, that's not the problem because i can still have my coffee treat at home if i want to - there's that 3-in-1 Nescafe, lovingly and thoughtfully sent by my parents, sitting in the kitchen - no, that's not the problem at all.

I think i'm psychologically drained. Yes, there are many reasons contributing to that. Plus, i still have practical exams tomorrow and the day after tomorrow - no, that's not the only reason why i'm drained either. I still have yet to be fully prepared but I'm working on it. So, whether i'll do perfectly well or not, there won't be much to regret as long as i do what i could in whatever time is left there for preparation (in other words, I know it will be my own fault if i didn't do well ;p padan muka).

Anyway, i'm tired and i'm also in disagreement with some things especially what i've heard, seen or read, but above all that, i'm also tired of complaining because there's nothing worth complaining. Since i hate ignorant people whom talk a lot (but actually don't even know the background or basis of their subjects), i sometimes have to stop short of becoming that kind of person myself. Therefore, keeping mum about certain things or just letting them pass is more preferable. I guess sometimes it's important to remember to "..forgive them (Lord), because they do not know". Just saying these words is a therapy for the heart, mind and soul.

Thanks Coffee Book, i'll write again sometime soon.

I think i'll go have that coffee now.

S. P.

p/s it rained yesterday. with all the thunders and lightnings and wind, i guess it could mark the start of the monsoon season. i may have to go and buy myself a pair of boots soon (something like pua chu kang's ok?). that'll be useful against mud and puddles ^^

Dear Mom - Beautiful Song

Here's a tribute to mothers.

This is a fan-made MV since there's no official MV for this song. It's a korean song but there's translated lyrics.

I know Mother's Day is not until May but I came across this song in YouTube and find it quite inspiring. I dedicate this to my mom too ^^

Goodnight.

Signing off. (Mood: warm hearted and motivated)

Infinity Challenge - EnerGee Parody

Today is another dull day. Nothing much happening other than sitting at home the whole day and attempting to read and digest my books. Anyway, I found this on youtube and decided to share. It's a parody of the Gee MV by a korean girl group called SNSD.

Funny yet a bit scary. This made me laugh and cringe at the same time hehe.
They were the same Infinity Challenge guys who made the Haru Haru (song by Big Bang) parody which made my roommate laugh, but I think this is "scarier" ahaha. Still, it adds some "colour" to my dull day.

Oh, there are some clips posted on the left hand side of my blog under the "Watch This" column. Those are also some of my favourites. I don't know if others think the same but i think it's a good cheer-up song ^^ Going back to books. Gambatte!

Sunburn vs Allergy

I'm back!..blogging that is..

I noticed it's been some time since i last blogged. Reason behind this is "busy-ness", hehe plus tiredness and laziness i guess. Everytime there's something which i thought is interesting to share, i would go home excited to blog about it but the moment i sit and turn on my computer, i suddenly feel sleepy or hungry or both ;p What a lousy blogger eh? hehe.

February and March had been busy and tiring for me. Our clinical postings have started so i had to sleep early if i were to catch the bus early in the morning. There's no way i'm going to the hospital riding an auto! (>_<) and every week there are practicals and seminars to prepare for. Since our internal assessment will be in April (starting from the 13th), it seems like lecturers of all subjects think we need extra boost by giving us multiple tests throughout the last 2 months.

Good thing is - i'm on holiday now! However, the not-so-good thing is we have exams after the 2-weeks holiday so i couldn't go home for the holidays huhu. I could fly home if i really want to, most of the students went back anyway, including all of my housemates but I won't be able to enjoy my holiday as much as I want to due to the freaking exams!! Thus begin my "Home Alone" episode..

Anyway, i still manage to have some fun the first week of holiday with some of my friends whom stayed back. We rented a cab to Wonder La (a theme park) which is around an hour's drive away and spent a whole day enjoying the thrill rides and water games ^^. It was fun but I suffered a bit aftermath. My skin is known to be sensitive to sun and heat but i discovered last year that i'm also allergic to sunblock! (especially with spf higher than 20) So what am i supposed to do? I wasn't about to be left out from all the fun, so here i am now with red, super dry, warm and itchy arms. Luckily my face doesn't suffer as much except for the areas around the mouth. It's not as bad as the last sensitive reaction though (i had swollen and itchy brinjal arms last time!!). No major complaints ^^

I meant to pin some pics together with this post but i'm already a bit sleepy now hehe. Anyhow some of the pics we took in Wonder La are already uploaded in my Fb. I'll put up some pics in the next post, including pic of the hospital i'm currently posted in ^^ it's a lovely missionary hospital.. Next time ;) Goodnight!
